Our absolute priority is to make sure that your visit is as welcoming as possible and that we have suitable measures in place to ensure that everything remains as Covid-safe as possible for our audiences, staff and artists. Please find below a list of the ways we are keeping you safe and the ways that you can also help us to do so. We are revising these measures all the time, so do check back for the latest guidance at the time of your visit. You’ll also receive details of all the below via email in advance of your visit with us:
Please note that our main foyers and bars open to the public 1 hour prior to a performance – these can be accessed on presentation of your show tickets. Our Box Office is still available for ticket collection and advance booking and can be reached from our main entrance on Swan Street. Please have your tickets ready for scanning to help reduce wait times.
OUR CONTINUING COVID-SAFE MEASURES
All auditorium and front of house spaces are subject to rigorous cleaning and sanitising between performances. The auditoria are sanitised quickly and efficiently using a fogging machine which disperses disinfectant in a mist – this means we are able to do this between every performance.
Touch free hand sanitising points are available around the building – please use these, or your own hand sanitiser, regularly.
We are now a cash-free venue, in order to reduce contact at our bars and Box Office. We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You can also pay with National Theatre Tokens or Royal & Derngate gift vouchers.
The wearing of face coverings is advised for all visitors, for the safety of audiences, artists and teams.
You will have been issued with e-tickets for your visit. You can either print these off or present them for scanning on your phone at one of our entrances. If there are multiple members of your party, please ensure that all individuals have their own tickets for scanning, or arrange a suitable meeting point outside the venue. If your tickets were carried over from a re-scheduled date you will receive a new set to the email address on your account no later than 48 hours before the show.
We have increased the ventilation in our auditoria by pumping in fresh, uncirculated air. This does mean you may find our spaces a little cooler than usual, so we would recommend wearing something warm. We are not operating a cloakroom, so please bring as few personal items as possible.
If you have any access requirements, please alert us when you arrive so we are able to help accommodate you appropriately and help avoid any unnecessary queuing.
If you cannot attend a performance due to Covid, our Box Office team will be happy to exchange your tickets to another performance or issue a credit note, up to 24 hours prior to a show.
We ask you to continue to be mindful of others attending the theatre. Please note that while the performance you are due to attend is welcoming audiences to a full capacity, Royal & Derngate is continuing to offer some socially distanced performances and areas of the theatre. These are designed for those patrons who might not yet be comfortable attending at a full capacity, These are made available where possible and in discussion with visiting producers.
