Box Office Opening Hours
Book by phone or in person Mon – Sat: 10am-6pm (or 15 minutes after the final performance has commenced).
On Sundays and Bank Holidays, Box Office is open an hour and a half before the start time of the first show and closes 15 minutes after the final performance begins.
Concession prices are available for individual shows where stated and may be offered to under 16s, over 60s, Students, Jobseekers and Disabled Patrons. Discounts vary on each production and on individual performances.
Disabled Patrons who require assistance when visiting the theatre can also request a free ticket for their companion/carer. Click here for more information about ways to make your visit simpler.
Only one concession applies per ticket. Concessionary price tickets must be requested at the time of purchase as discounts cannot be applied retrospectively. Proof of status will be required on the first purchase of a concessionary ticket and can be checked on any subsequent ticket purchase.
A transaction charge of £3 applies to all bookings over £15, except for our members, Disabled Patrons and Group Bookers. This charge is only applicable per-booking and not per-ticket.
The transaction charge exists to support the running costs of Royal & Derngate. As ticket revenue is divided between many different parties, an increase in ticket prices may not necessarily benefit the theatre. By adding a transaction charge, we ensure that every penny goes directly to Royal & Derngate.
We will continue to charge a ‘per booking’ charge, not ‘per ticket’, which makes our charges lower than many other theatres. We will continue to tell you about these charges, whether you are booking online, over the phone or at the counter.
Royal & Derngate runs a Real Discounts scheme, offering free and inexpensive tickets to 14-26 year olds for a variety of different productions. If you are interested in joining, please email our Box Office and request to be added to the mailing list.
A family ticket is a discounted ticket for a family of four (max. 2 adults). Family tickets can only be bought on selected shows and the prices for these vary from show to show. When buying a family ticket online first select your seats and then choose ‘family of 4’ for all four tickets when asked to select your ticket type.
You can select which seats you would like in the auditorium by simply choosing the performance you want to see, along with the area that you would like to sit in. Click on your preferred available seats on the auditorium map and proceed to the checkout. If you need to change your selection, click on the highlighted seats again to deselect. Alternatively, you can select ‘Best Available’ as your area choice and the website will allocate you the best tickets available at that time.
For performances in our Underground spaces, there is no option to select your own seats, so please select ‘Best Available’.
You will receive a confirmation email as soon as your booking is complete. Posted tickets should arrive within 5-10 working days of booking. Please note, if the performance you are booking for is scheduled for less than 7 days time, your tickets will be held at Box Office for collection.
If you have a promotional code, please enter it in the box provided at the start of the booking process and click the ‘Add Code’ button. Once you see the message ‘Promotion Code has been applied’, proceed with your booking as normal and the prices will be updated accordingly.
Please note: If you are shopping online using a promotional code, you will only be able to book tickets for that particular show. If you wish to book for anything else at the same time, please complete the promotional transaction first and then start the booking process again.
To book online using Royal & Derngate gift vouchers, enter the voucher code in the relevant box when completing the payment stage of the booking process. We are unable to redeem National Theatre Tokens online at present, but are happy to accept them for transactions made in person at the Box Office or by calling 01604 624811.
