The Jungle Book

THE JUNGLE BOOK
by Jessica Swale
Directed by Max Webster
Music by Joe Stilgoe
based on the stories by Rudyard Kipling

A co-production with Children’s Touring Partnership

We are delighted to be creating a vivid new adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s family classic for the Royal stage this Christmas. A wild and funny tale of family, belonging and identity, this production is packed with memorable characters, new songs and brilliant storytelling.

Mowgli the man cub battles for survival in this heartwarming coming-of-age story about a boy raised by wolves in the jungle. With the help of his animal friends, including Bagheera the panther, Baloo the bear and Kaa the python, Mowgli outwits the cruel and powerful tiger, Shere Khan, and learns the law of the jungle.

Adapted by the Olivier Award-winning Jessica Swale (Nell Gwynn), and directed by Max Webster (The Lorax, The Old Vic), The Jungle Book receives its premiere at Royal & Derngate before a major national tour. It promises the perfect festive entertainment for all ages.

Relaxed Performance
We are presenting a relaxed performance on Wednesday 20 December at 2.15pm. These are specially adapted and relaxed performances for customers with a wide range of disabilities and for those on the autistic spectrum. There may be some small changes to the show in terms of lighting and sound but the overall content will not change. There will also be a more relaxed atmosphere in the auditorium in order to reduce anxiety and ensure an enjoyable visit. A visual story and familiarisation meeting and a relaxation area will also be available. Tickets for this relaxed performance are not available online; to book, call our Box Office on 01604 624811 or visit us in person.
