Richard Alston Dance Company: Final Edition

This Final Edition tour is part of Richard Alston Dance Company’s last season – who sadly cease operations next April. They are determined to go out with colours flying so have put together a celebration of this company’s unflagging creativity.

The evening will showcase Alston’s latest work, Voices and Light Footsteps, set to the glorious vocal music of Claudio Monteverdi. Associate Choreographer Martin Lawrance’s newest creation A Far Cry to the impassioned Introduction and Allegro by Edward Elgar. Pieces to live music are: Mazur (Chopin Mazurkas) and Brahms Hungarian hugely popular with audiences last year.

Pre-show talk
There is a pre-show talk on Tue 1 October at 6.30pm. Free with a ticket to the performance but due to limited availability advance booking required.

Curtain Raiser Performance
There will be a short curtain raiser at the beginning of the performance.

A new group of 21 dancers have been brought together through a collaboration with the Richard Alston Dance Company and the dance company Two Thirds Sky. The young dancers were chosen from over four counties near Bedford where Two Thirds Sky are based aged between 14-18 years old. Choreographer and former RADC dancer Ihsaan de Banya will work with Two Thirds Sky dancers and creators, Lisa Spackman and Laura Gibson to create the new piece over the summer in a week long residency.
