Royal & Derngate is thrilled to welcome the return of Rambert Dance Company, who bring a powerful dance work combining film, animation, music and live performance.
The company’s fearless dancers take centre stage to perform Sharon Eyal’s fierce, pulsating choreography to an original soundtrack of driving techno from Ori Lichtik and GAIKA. Director Kibwe Tavares brings this together with a stunning film backdrop, where we encounter sisters Aisha and Abhaya washed ashore and seeking refuge in a strange land.
This is a co-production between Rambert and The Royal Ballet, in association with BBC Films and Robin Saunders.

“RAMBERT’S DANCERS ARE, AS TO BE EXPECTED, UTTERLY RAVISHING, HAIR SLICKED BACK, TORSOS GLITTERING, ATTACKING EACH MOVEMENT WITH GUSTO, URGED ON BY ORI LICHTIK AND GAIKA’S DRIVE SOUNDTRACK”
