In a world of opposites where depravity hides behind the public face of respectability, the behaviour of accomplished, charitable Doctor Jekyll is called into question. What drives his pursuit of scientific discovery? What shadows lurk within the shining lights of high society? And what is the truth behind the mysterious Mr Hyde?

“He put the glass to his lips and drank at one gulp… his face became black and the features seemed to melt and alter.”

Inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s chilling novel, Jekyll & Hyde explores the lengths individuals will go to hide their true nature in a new ensemble-driven theatre adaptation developed in a collaboration between Royal & Derngate and the University of Northampton’s BA Acting & Creative Practice students.

Co-Directed by Erica Martin (Great Expectations, The Shakespeare Story Trail, Sprout Boy) and Trudy A Bell (Salt, Macbeth, Love Will).
