NCJazz Presents an unmissable evening of modern jazz in the intimate setting of our Underground Studio, with a relaxed atmosphere and cabaret seating.
Dave O’Higgins, “one of Britain’s finest contemporary jazz musicians” (The Observer), is an award-winning arranger, composer and jazz teacher. He toured with the Darius Brubeck Quartet, appearing with them at Royal & Derngate in 2010 to celebrate their father, jazz pianist Dave Brubeck’s 90th birthday.
O’Higgins is performing with his quartet which includes Graham Harvey on piano, Geoff Gascoyne on bass and Sebastiaan de Krom on drums. Their music will feature some familiar standards, reharmonised and retitled, but recognisable as blues, bebop and swing from the fifties and sixties onwards.
