A Tale Of Two Cities casting

We are looking for two boys from the local community to take part in its production of A Tale of Two Cities, which runs from Saturday 10 to Saturday 17 September. Auditions will take place at the theatre on Wednesday 27 July.

Mike Poulton’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel was first staged at Royal & Derngate in 2014 to great acclaim. It is an epic story of love, sacrifice and redemption set amidst the turmoil of the French Revolution.

Director James Dacre is looking for two boys to alternate the small non-speaking role of a peasant’s son. The boys must be aged 7 or above and under 4 feet tall, and be able to lie still. There will be some rehearsals during the weeks commencing 22 August and 29 August with more intense rehearsals the following week running up to opening. The boys must be available for all rehearsals and performances, which will involve taking some time off school. Parents or guardians will also need to be available at these times to accompany their child. More information about the rehearsal dates is included in the audition registration pack.

The auditions take place on Wednesday 27 July from 4pm to 7pm at the theatre and parents must pre-register, by Monday 25 July. Audition places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register and get a timed slot to attend, download a registration form and audition notes from our Casting page or pick up a form at Box Office.  For more information contact Heather Mendonca by emailing [email protected]
