Through the Summer and into Autumn, we have a gripping programme of in-house productions, a bumper crop of top touring shows, great music from the world of pop and classical, and some of the biggest names in comedy.
Our Made in Northampton season offers a return visit for The Wardrobe Ensemble‘s award-winning Education, Education, Education, along with world premiere stage adaptations of The Lovely Bones and Touching the Void for the Autumn, and The Remains of the Day newly announced for the new year.
Visiting drama includes Some Mothers Do ‘Ave ‘Em, the multi-award-winning comedy Art, Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, Kneehigh’s The Flying Lovers Of Vitebsk and Ian Rankin’s iconic Scottish detective is brought to life on stage in Rebus: Long Shadows. Among the great selection of musicals are The Last Ship, The Band, Titanic The Musical and Kinky Boots, with tickets now on sale for Dr Dolittle and Rock of Ages in 2019.
Our orchestral season brings with more concerts by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, in a varied music programme that also features the singers Billy Lockett and Elkie Brooks. The acclaimed Richard Alston Dance Company also returns this Autumn. The top class comedy line-up features gigs by Jason Manford, Danny Baker, Ross Noble, Shappi Khorsandi and Sara Pascoe.
Family entertainment includes Teletubbies Live, Little Baby Bum, Peppa Pig’s Adventure, Julia Donaldson‘s The Snail And The Whale and Michael Morpurgo‘s Private Peaceful. Looking ahead to Christmas, this year’s spectacular Derngate pantomime is Peter Pan, with The Worst Witch casting a magical spell over the Royal.
