This Spring sees the next productions from the Made in Northampton season, including Agatha Christie thriller Love From a Stranger, a new adaptation of E.M. Forster’s A Passage to India, a musical version of Oscar Wilde’s children’s classic The Selfish Giant and Touching the Void, based on Joe Simpson’s best-selling memoir. Made in Northampton is sponsored locally by Michael Jones Jeweller.
Among the great selection of musicals are the West End hits Mamma Mia! and Shrek The Musical, the brand new show The Band based on the music of Take That, Sting’s The Last Ship, and the stirring Titanic The Musical, with Kinky Boots to follow later in the year. The Russian State Ballet of Siberia will be performing Romeo & Juliet and Swan Lake, while Strictly favourites Anton and Erin return with their latest dance spectacular.
Our visiting drama programme includes the acclaimed comedy Art, the stage adaptation of classic sitcom Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Hamlet and the John Steinbeck classic Of Mice and Men. The top class comedy line up features gigs by Jason Manford, Joe Lycett, Bill Bailey, Jess Robinson and Lucy Porter.
The theatre’s orchestral season continues with more concerts by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, in a varied music programme that also includes Cara Dillon, Joe Stilgoe, Lisa Stansfield and the Opera Boys. Family entertainment includes David Walliam’s Awful Auntie.
