This Spring sees the first productions from the Made in Northampton 2017 season, including the Arthur Miller classic Death Of A Salesman starring Tim Pigott-Smith, John Steinbeck’s moving story The Grapes Of Wrath, a bold new adaptation of Homer’s chronicle, An Iliad, and a unique site-specific performance at Sixfields Stadium, The 12th Player.
Among the great selection of musicals are the West End hit Sunny Afternoon, the sensational Sister Act and the UK premiere tour of The Addams Family, with Legally Blonde to follow later in the year. Saint Petersburg Ballet Theatre will be performing Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, while acclaimed choreographer Matthew Bourne returns with the entertaining Early Adventures. The visiting drama programme includes romantic comedy A Passionate Woman, the smash-hit stage adaptation of The Full Monty and Peter James’ thriller Not Dead Enough.
The top class comedy line up features gigs by Jack Whitehall, Rob Brydon, Jon Richardson and Shazia Mirza. The theatre’s orchestral season continues with more concerts by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, in a varied music programme that also includes the singers Nathan Carter and Sam Bailey, and the Astor Big Band. Family entertainment includes Roald Dahl’s The Twits, Michael Morpurgo’s Running Wild and children’s favourite The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
