Comedian and actor Jason Manford has become the latest to have their name added to a seat here at Royal & Derngate.
Jason, who is currently appearing in the musical Curtains, took time out of his busy schedule to be photographed with his newly named seat after the matinee performance on the Derngate stage on Wednesday 26 February. Jason has previously been seen at the venue in the tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 2016, as well as in his regular stand up shows. His next stand up tour, Like Me, which goes on sale this week, comes to Royal & Derngate on 23 June 2021.
You too can name a seat in either the Derngate or Royal for yourself, or members of your family, in memory of a loved one, or as the perfect gift for someone special.
For just £250, seat sponsors get a personalised plaque on their chosen seat for 10 years, a commemorative certificate and an acknowledgement in our programmes. After 10 years the plaque joins our collection of past seat plaques in a permanent position in the Royal foyer.
Royal & Derngate Chief Executive Jo Gordon commented: “Naming a seat can make a really unusual present or provide a lasting memory, at the same time as supporting Royal & Derngate in its work. What better way to relaunch our Name a Seat scheme than by sharing the news that we are naming a seat after Jason in recognition of all the brilliant ways he’s brought fun and laughter to Northampton audiences?”
Anyone interested in naming a seat, or discussing customised opportunities, can contact Royal & Derngate’s Development Co-ordinator Emma Harris, by calling 01604 655760 or emailing [email protected]. You can find out more information on our Name A Seat page.
