Following the success of last year’s campaign, which gave over 300 disadvantaged children the change to enjoy our Christmas productions, we are now running our 2016 Unforgettable Gift appeal with the Northamptonshire Community Foundation and Lamport Hall’s Sir Gyles Isham’s young people in theatre award.
This collaboration will enable us to gift even more free tickets for our Christmas shows to children and young people who live in or are at risk of being in child poverty, to help make their Christmas more memorable.
Northamptonshire Community Foundation Grants Director, Rachel McGrath, said: “The festive period is a difficult and stressful time for families on a low income and this helps release some of the burden and pressures at this time of year, as well as creating a unforgettable and magical experience.”
Vicki Howlett, House Assistant at Lamport Hall commented: “The Lamport Trust is delighted to support Royal & Derngate’s Unforgettable Gift Campaign. Sir Gyles Isham, who lived at the Hall until 1976, was particularly fond of the theatre and was a noted actor between the wars, appearing on stage and screen. We are sure he would be delighted to see Lamport supporting this initiative.”
You are invited to add a gift-aided donation of £10 when making a Christmas show booking. We will make up the difference and provide tickets to disadvantaged children living in Northamptonshire for either Peter And The Starcatcher or Jack And The Beanstalk, for a number of key performances throughout December.
