Today the Boards of Royal & Derngate and The Core at Corby Cube were pleased to announce that the search has commenced for a successor to take over from Chief Executive Martin Sutherland.
Martin will be leaving the organisation on 31 August 2018 to take up his new post leading the team that will deliver UK City of Culture 2021 in Coventry.
While the recruitment process is underway to find a new chief executive, the role of CEO will be taken in the interim by Jo Gordon, currently Marketing & Sales Director.
Martin Sutherland commented: “I’ve worked closely with Jo as part of the Strategic Management Team for 9 years. She has always given me great support and I know that the organisation will be in very safe hands over the coming months.”
Jo added: “I’m looking forward to working with my senior team colleagues to head up our amazing organisation until a new Chief Executive is appointed. We have some busy times ahead with preparations for several world premieres this Autumn and the launch of The Kinky Boots national tour amongst our highlights.”
Steve Edmonds, Chair of the Royal & Derngate board of trustees said: “I’m looking forward to working closely with Jo and the theatre’s outstanding teams as we continue the ongoing business of the theatre”. Gary Tait, Chair of The Core at Corby Cube added: “We are expecting to hear from some brilliant applicants to consider for this exciting role.”
