Each year the National Theatre commission new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK’s most exciting writers with the theatre makers of tomorrow.

Every year over 300 youth theatre companies and over 6000 young people across the country take part and perform at their regional theatres. Royal & Derngate are very proud to host the largest of the partner theatre festivals.

This year young performers and directors have been astonishing and completely resilient to create digital performances for an online festival taking place Sat 1 – Sun 9 May 2021.

We look forward to welcoming the following groups who will be performing their work and taking part in workshops, Q&As and all things Connections across the week.
