Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Family Days

Behind the Lines
Sat 8th November 2014
11.30am - 12.30pm          Early Years (recommended for 2-5 yr olds)
1pm - 2:30pm                    Juniors (recommended for 6-13 yr olds)


Join members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for a special Behind the Lines family workshop to explore the music and composers of the First World War.
 
These fun and interactive workshops designed for Early Years and Juniors form part of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's special Behind the Lines programme commemorating the centenary of the First World War. Today young musicians will participate in singing and playing activities, musical games and have the chance to talk to players about what life is really like in the Orchestra. They can also create their own war inspired tribute - including instrumental explosions. Be warned however, adults will be invited to join in too!
 
No instrumental skills are necessary for these sessions, but if you can play please do bring along your instrument.
 
TICKETS - £3.50 per child (includes one accompanying adult for free). Remember that tickets for the Orchestra's evening concert start from just £5.

Romantic Russians

Soaring melodies and rapturous harmonies - explore the music of great Russian Romantic composers such as Rachmaninov, alongside world class musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
 
Designed for Early Years and Juniors, these sessions will include songs, musical games and a chance to talk to players about what life is really like in the Orchestra. Participants will also hear beautiful romantic melodies performed by the musicians, and then be encouraged to create their own dreamy tunes in response!
 
No instrumental skills are necessary for these sessions, but if you can play please do bring your instrument along. Adults can join in too.
